I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like I needed to share my experience. I walked into this salon because I was looking for a decent nail place in the area. They had availability, so I sat down right away. Unfortunately, the service felt rushed from the start. The pedicure was done quickly — so much so that the person who started before me was still getting their pedicure while mine was already finished. The manicure was also rushed. The technician only pretended to trim my cuticles, and I could tell she wasn’t being thorough. I didn’t say anything at the time, partly out of respect — she was older than me, and as an Asian woman myself, I sometimes find it hard to confront elders directly in these situations. However, once everything was done, the result was clearly bad. I had to say something. She knew it too — and she even admitted that a third coat of polish wouldn’t fix the issue. She ended up redoing it, and while the second try was slightly better, it still wasn’t great. You can see the result in the photo I’m attaching. I paid $45 for the service and gave a $10 tip — which I gave before she started painting my nails. I’m wondering now if that was seen as not enough? Either way, I don’t plan to go back to her again. Thankfully, it’s not the only nail salon around, and I’m sure I can find a better technician elsewhere. One thing I noticed was that the technician working next to me was very detailed and seemed to be doing a great job for her client. I planned to ask for her name on my way out so I could book with her next time. But when I was leaving, the woman at the front desk completely ignored me — no eye contact, no “thank you,” nothing. What bothered me most was how differently she treated the other customers. I watched her warmly greet and say goodbye to others, but not to me. It made me feel like I was being treated differently — possibly even discriminated against — by another Asian person, which made the experience even more disappointing.
This is probably one of the worst gel manicures I’ve ever gotten. Hate to write reviews like this but feel like I wasted my money. The manicurist had painted the clear gel not only on my nail, but around my skin as well. We realized when at the end of the manicure the final top coat had created bubbles on my actual skin when put under the device. She had filed away as much as she could but I have flaking dry skin all around my nails and the nail itself feels damaged, along with having dry hardened polish around my skin.
Good afternoon. I have been getting manicures and pedicures with you for over three years now, and on two occasions, I happened to get a woman named Zunita. Honestly, she works at such a frantic pace that it looks like she’s in a competition. I feel that one pays a considerable amount of money, yet her work is abysmal. On my hands—where I got gel polish—she left huge ridges, and my feet turned out terribly; it looks as if I had painted them myself—and I don't think I would have left them looking this bad even if I had! To be honest, I was left feeling both disappointed and frustrated 😩—especially knowing that I give my tip with sacrifice, yet willingly, because I value the work that people do.
I always go to Kay and she is the best. Pedicures, massage, she is consistent and thorough. The chairs are comfortable and my pedicure polish always lasts so long! Thank you for being so reliable!
I'm pretty upset with my experience, i got a maniepedi and gelx french tip, they lasted less than 3 weeks. I have been very gentle with them and they're dropped like flies from normal daily activities. Opening a door, putting my shoes on, etc. The french tip also just looked a little crooked. Insane price ($190+$10 tip) for the quality of the service.
