I booked with Vanessa on Feb 19 and received excellent service for my brow wax, tint, and lamination!!! From online scheduling to finding the studio to checking out, every step was seamless and easy. Vanessa was GREAT and took time to both ask me what I wanted and share details about each step of the process. Most of the service was done in comfortable silence listening to Vanessa’s good tunes. The vibes are welcoming and pretty chill. Vanessa’s studio itself is SO COOL with a wall of windows that overlooks a beautiful terrace. I appreciated the brow mapping which allowed Vanessa to style my brows in a shape that works best for my face. I trust her completely!! I’ve been seeing Dean at Illume for years!! I will never go anywhere else for my brows and facials. If I ever move from Chicago I’ll have to travel back to see Dean. The space feels like a spa experience, Dean’s work is incredible, and he makes me feel so comfortable! He’s kind and funny, while also being highly skilled. He really cares about his work and clients, is always learning new things, and willing to teach about skin care products. It’s like hanging out with a best friend who is AMAZING at brows and facials. I’ve gotten lash tinting, brow tinting, facials…all top notch. Highly recommend to anyone!!

Dean is worth every penny! He is SO meticulous - my eyebrows looked flawless after my first waxing appointment, not even a baby hair was out of place. I used to go to another high-end brow place downtown and, while they did a pretty good job, I felt like I always needed another wax after a couple weeks. I was impressed with how long my wax lasted after seeing Dean, and I really appreciated his attention to detail. Even though it is a little more expensive, the quality of the waxing is worth it.

Dean is the absolute best, and I am the worst client for taking 4 years to write a review. He explains everything he’s going to do before doing it, so there are no surprises. He makes you feel extremely comfortable in his space while he is working his magic (I usually fall asleep because of how comfortable I am). My eyebrows are perfection every single time once he’s done, can confirm the facials are fabulous as well. Dean allows me to be my whacky-ass self and I truly love him for that, whether it’s listening to my crazy happenings in my life, falling asleep, or not being able to sit still. I will never go anywhere else for my brows. Dean excels in his craft and I can’t recommend him enough. He’s a sweetheart and his studio is one of my favorite places to be. Dean is the best! I won't let anyone else touch my brows and have been going to him for years now. He also gives amazing facials and knows his stuff when it comes to skincare. Don't think twice about getting your brows or facials done here, you will leave feeling fantastic!
